Melody McAvoy entered the professional dance scene at the tender age of 16, already bestowed with the world class training from the renowned performing arts school ‘I Got Soul’ to help her on her way. Along with extensive training in Los Angeles and New York, Melody adds a certain Je ne sais quoi to her locker.
After gracing many a stage, such as the O2 with Ed Sheeran’s Brit Awards performance, as well as the Royal Albert Hall with The Wanted, to performing on many European platforms with dance companies such as Bird Gang, Mr Bowlers and I Got Soul, Melody has already displayed much diversity as a performer.
TV performances on mainstream shows such as The Voice, X factor and Strictly have showcased her stunning dance versatility to a potential audience in the 100’s of millions.
Many more will have seen her in advertisements for some of the worlds biggest brands.
As a Choreographer Melody’s creativity is also at large, bringing a modern twist to a classic art, leading her to head up music videos and high brow productions such as Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi stunt dance performance, ‘Cats The Musical’, The Wanted Full Monty and an Australian tour for B*witched. Melody has been selected to be one of the faces at one of the biggest UK dance events to represent her choreography and breaking abilities (soon to be revealed).
Not only is she in a plethora of dance videos herself, but she has also just completed a high end production of a music movie that will be released next year.
In 2021 Melody literally broke straight into the breaking scene with a bang. After training with her coach Reckless ‘Soul Mavericks Legacy’ Lee encouraged Melody to enter a top level competition, which she qualified as one of the top 8 in Redbulls BC1, in one of her inaugural battles. She became a GB finalist soon after, to then qualify a second year running at Redbull BC1, landing herself in the Great Britain team for the first ever breaking Olympics in Paris 2024. She has also been representing her country as a Team GB member in various WDSF events in places such as Almirea, Spain; Manchester, UK and Montpelier, France.
